Our Animals

Jett and Joey - the kittens were rescued from a friend of a friend. They were both feral when they came to us, but have come a long way!

Toby and Diana were owner surrenders from a family member. They are the perfect fit in our cat family.

Preacher

Dottie and Buffy

Miyagi is our blue eyed boy. Daniel could only have one pet at his apartment, so of course, we took in Miyagi!

Max and Sam are the OGs. Sheree found them at a drug store parking lot when they were tiny kittens.

The Chickens

It all started with chickens. That wasn’t the intended start, but we have fallen in love with our feathered friends! Buffy was one of our original girls. Dottie came from the Gwinnett Humane Society. Preacher was a rescue from a cock fighting ring! He flew to us all the way from Washington State!

Meet Georgia and Ginny, the mother and daughter duo of donkeys at Heavy Metal Animal Sanctuary. These girls were the first to arrive at Heavy Metal and are from Save the Horses. Georgia was 4 years old and Ginny was 2, making her the baby of the herd here at the Sanctuary.

Scarlett was 21 years old when she came to us. She is a Belgian Draft. She was rescued from the kill pen by Save the Horses. We thought she was the perfect addition to our sanctuary.!

Izzy

Zorro

Dixie came to us as an owner surrender. She is a spicy girl that we love very much! Dixie was 20 years old when she arrived at Heavy Metal. She is an appendix quarterhorse (a quarterhorse thoroughbred mix).

Freedom

Justice

The Minis

The minis came from a rescue in Tennessee. We had visited them to learn about donkeys so, when the owner needed to rehome them we were excited to bring them to Heavy Metal.
